Romanians

It’s amazing the names that we give to people that we don’t know much about. We put them into categories and look down upon them when they each have a uniquely given name and story. I am guilty of doing this and apologise to anyone that I may have disregarded or avoided because of what other people have called them or how I have judged them.

God has been breaking my heart and teaching me lately that every person on this Earth deserves the respect that He first entrusted to them when He first created them. Genesis 1:27 “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God, he created him; male and female, he created them.” God created each person like Him. Why do we think we have the right to criticize and judge another when all of us are created in the image of God? Acts 10:15 also commands us to “…not call anything impure that God has made clean.”

I am learning to not stereotype, judge or continue to call people using general names that put them in a box that people look down upon or avoid. Each person has a unique name and story and I will commit to calling each person by their proper name:

  • Blacks = African-Americans
  • Gypsies = Romanians
  • Bogans = Australians
  • Orphans = Daughter & Sons of Jesus Christ
  • Prostitutes, Homosexuals, Hobos, Poor, Rich, Nerds, Drunks, Druggies, "Special Needs" & Hippies  = Human beings
  • Gentiles = People who God has also granted repentance unto life (Acts 11:18)

Each one of these people are loved by Christ and have uniquely given names and stories. Will you join me and start changing the reputation of these people; allowing them to be who God had created them to be?
