Emily wanted to take a photo of the house, which made me want to have a picture of the sisters as well. I persuaded Emily, Susan and Bri (another team mate) to go with me to ask them for a group photo. We approached the house and explained to Lilly that we were going on an 11-month mission trip and would love to have a photo to remind us to pray for them. She hesitated for a while and then disappeared. Upon returning; she agreed.
We walked back inside and took a photo with Elizabeth sitting on her bed. While we were standing up, Elizabeth spoke up and said that she had a knee construction and had never been able to move her left leg more than 15 degrees since then. She preceded to show us that she could KICK IT more than 100 degrees MULTIPLE TIMES! Lilly told her to calm down and also explained that she was trying to help Elizabeth out of the bed but she swung her leg over so quickly that she nearly kicked her in the head.
WHAT THE?! Did God really just HEAL Elizabeth’s leg?! Did He really just give us a glimpse of His healing power? Did He really just give us His authority and power to HEAL the sick?! Oh my goodness! We were speechless for a few seconds and then shouted out praises to Jesus. WOW! He used US to heal!
On top of that; Elizabeth shared that she has a heart for young people. Despite her not being able to walk, somehow God just brings young people to her. Not only did God answer our desires to hear from Him and witness His healing power, God also answered Elizabeth’s desire to share her story with us.
I asked Elizabeth whether we could share this story and the photo we took with her with our family and friends and she gave us the permission, so here it is:
Though I was fearful of failure, after witnessing God’s miraculous power, I firmly believe that Jesus will heal her whole body completely! Please continue to pray for her as she battles with her health issues.
