“There and here, here and there, funny things are everywhere!”- Dr. Suess Book (bonus points if you can name it)

I was reading that this morning with a boy at the childrens home and it reminded me of some pictures I have been meaning to post.  I like to laugh.  Sometimes too much… and usually too  much comes at inappropriate times.   Please refer to the cultural quirk from our most recent team blog if you don’t believe me!

On the World Race powerful things happen inside us and around us.  Our hearts are broken from the hurt we see and we are challenged to let God break us and start all over with Him.  However, along the way it’s also common place (especially on our team) to laugh.   Laughter and joy are gifts from God himself.  And we make good use of them.  Since by reading this you have decided to come along for the ride… i don’t want you to feel slighted on the lighter side of things.

So here are a few pictures from the year so far that make me giggle… praying they make you smile too  🙂

I wish the sample passer outers at Costco dressed like the foods they were selling… a pineapple selling pineapple cookies in Thailand:

Just one of the many spelling errors we have encountered.   Colleen at a glasses kiosk in the mall:

We went to a basketball game and I needed change for the water I bought… so the vendor set down his tray, tossed his ID at me and took off with my money to get change.  I got water and an identity…

Our Christmas tree from the mall…

And finally: our wonderful boys treated probably the 4 most awkward girls ever to massages (we ended up loving it by the way)… these were the sweet PJs we got to wear…fulfilling a race long dream Colleen and I have had ever since we saw Grandma Yai wearing  similar outfits everyday in Thailand.
