During our second day in India, we bumped into an amazing woman of the Lord who deeply impacted our month: Alice.

Alice was routinely stopping by SCH to give the babies some love, when we met her and instantly bonded. Not an hour later, she was taking our team shopping for punjabis (our culturally appropriate outfits for the month) and icecream.
Over the month, we grew closer and closer to this beautiful lady. Her family had been leading mission trips to India her whole life, and she recently married Abe, an Indian man. January was their final month in India before leaving for the US, and she selflessly dedicated so much of her precious time left to making our stay enjoyable and comfortable.
She became our big sister and Indian mentor as she introduced us to her family and took care of us. Whether she was bringing us to her church every Sunday, going to the market with us, going out to eat, surprising us with icecream, making sure we got wifi, inviting us to her going-away party, and planning a game night (complete with Reese’s and Twizzlers from the States), she was sharing a piece of home with us when we were so, so far away from anything familiar.

Alice (and her sister—Grace!), we love you both so much. We cannot imagine our month in India without you, and we are certain that it was God’s will that you were brought to our team in such an emotionally charged month. You showed us what it meant to be selfless and full of hospitality for complete strangers. You loved us so well, and we will forever be grateful for all of the time you spent with us.
Can’t wait to reunite with you, Abe, Grace, and your father someday in the States!
All our love,
Team Radiance
