You will be shocked to see little girls and even babies wearing eyeliner. It is a cultural thing.

 

You see so many dogs and baby goats roaming the streets you mistake them for one another.

 

Tibetan Buddhism is a mix between Hinduism and Buddhism. This is the main spiritual practice in Nepal.

 

The kinds here are the friendliest kids I have met on the race so far.

 

The kids go to school everyday from 9-5pm except Saturday.

 

Parents can drop off their kids at monasteries as soon as they can eat and walk. That child will grow up a monk and probably never see their parents again. The parents will sacrifice their child to a god and also a welfare to the family for a better life they think for the child.

 

Most of the towns are so poor that they will only turn on the power for no more than 4 hours during the day and a couple of hours in the middle of the night. Most things are ran on generators. Ive become really appreciative towards and will cherish electricity back at home. It is not fun taking a shower in the dark but you never know when the electricity will be on.

 

A teacher's salary is about 4,000 rupees per month. There are 85 rupees in one American dollar. Do the math and that equals a monthly pay of 47.00$. Even in American at McDonalds you can make that much money in 1 day. 

 

Hearing goats be born outside your window at random hours of the night becomes a norm. In the beginning I used to think it was children screaming. Nope it was just goats.
