A week in the life of me- Tek Thla Village in Pouk, Cambodia
I am currently working with a school called University for the Nations. It is affiliated with YWAM but they do not call themselves that. I am living in a two story blue school house. The bottom floor has four classrooms and the top floor has three bedrooms and a kitchen. It is in the Tek Thla Village in Pouk. Pouk is a small town 25 minutes outside of Siem Reap. Fact: By tuk tuk you can get there in 30 minutes and by bike it will take you an hour. ( Look for the updates about when we will ride out bike to Siem Reap)
This is my week long schedule. This 7 days in the life of me, Sarah Atkins, a missionary in Cambodia. Not only are some of these kids motivated to learn but this is an after hours school house that teaches English, Computer classes, sewing and conversation classes. The kids come to this house when they are not in school to learn other specialities. We are also implementing a haircutting and guitar lesson class while my team is here. Unfortunately I do not have those talents to teach in those : (
Sunday:
8:08- Wake Up
9:00- we were supposed to have sunday school for kids but it was cancelled. Instead Sheri, Kristen and I went on a village prayer walk. We met some of the school kids and they let us in their house.
9:45 Had prayer time for Sheri and I who were giving the message and our testimonies for church
10:00- Church will ages 7- 20
11:45 Had a snack with the kids and discussed the lesson
12:15 Ate lunch
1:15 Went to the lake with the kids. We rode our bikes for 7 minutes to get there
1:45-4:15 we swam in the lake, lounged in the hammocks, met and played with some locals, taught some school/ church kids how to swim
5:00 Got back to the school house and changed clothes ( here they do not wear swim suits so we all swam in our clothes)
5:15 Shared my peanut-butter and jelly with some granola with a special needs child name Sreymoa. (She hangs out at the school house often)

7:00 played cards with some team mates

Monday:
4:00 am- wake up to dogs fighting
7:00 Wake up for real to start the day
7:30-8:00- Chore time ( I am responsible for sweeping and mopping the hallways and stairs)
8:30- 9:00- Devotion time with all staff
9:30- 12:00 Free time and time with God
12:00 Lunch time and fellowship with staff
1:30 Insanity workout with team
3:00- 4:00 Helped with a computer class for young children
4:00-5:00 Helped teach a sewing class
5:00-6:00- Taught adjectives in "English for Children"
6:00-7:00 helped teach how to make greeting cards in computer class for teens
7:00 Dinner and Fellowship with staff
8:00 Team time
9:30 Game of Nerts with some team girls
10:30 Bed time
Tuesday:
7:00- wake up

8:00-9:45- Took a 25 minute bike ride to a village to play with some children
10:00-12:00- Free time and time with God
12:00 Lunch and fellowship with staff
1:30- Insanity workout with team
2:30- 4:00- Rest time and play with school kids outside
4:00- 5:00 Taught Sheri how to sew her pants in sewing class
5:00-6:00 finishing teaching about adjectives in "English for Children"
6:00-7:00- Finish the lesson on greeting cards for teens
7:00 Dinner and fellowship with staff
8:00 Team time
9:00 Played card games with the girls

5:00- 6:00 The team and I did a skip about God healing, some games, christmas songs and shared testimonies with the English classes for Christian values day
6:00-7:00 We played games, I helped in a computer class, and led a bible story

Thursday:

8:00- 10:00 Rode our bikes to a village. We sang songs with the kids, played and prayer walked around the houses.

6:00-7:00 Helped teach a conversational English class

9:30 Found a huge lizard in the kitchen and the team decided to torture him… I was no involved.
