We never realize how simple things matter so much to us when we are living out of the country in a thrid world country without things that we are used to or had to leave behind. If you would have asked me this last year my list would have not been the same. It is till now that I am thankful for simple things. Sad that I just now realized all things. I am also thankful for this trip to teach me such great life lessons.
God really put me into reality today when it was raining and the government decided they would turn the electricty and the water off in the town. We did not know how long this would happen. Little did we know the power, internet and water was off for 12 hours…. what to do… what to do… 1st) I watched movies until my computer died…then I continued my daniel study for my daniel fasting…. wrote in my journal…. prayed…. slept… talked…. listened to my IPOD…. made shadow puppets on the ceiling with my head lamp… watched the rain… YEP.. that was the consistancy of the power outage.
Then God said " No longer will you take things for granted and you will be more thankful than you ever have for the things that you have and once had before life on the race" You better be right I am so thankful! Very thankful…I could go on and on about the other things I am thankful for but I think you get it..
Be thankful for everything.. you never know what tomorrow may bring.. The LORD giveth and the LORD taketh away.
Blessings,
Sarah
