Many of you have noticed and brought to my attention that I don’t blog often. There is an answer for that. As a world racer many people have invested a lot of time, money and prayers into me. Knowing all of that I felt like I needed to deliver some profound life changing and inspirational story every time I blogged. Hence the limited amount of blogs.  I also prepared myself to be living in a tent eating nothing but rice and beans and told many people that’s what my living conditions would most likely be. Well that hasn’t happened either; it’s safe to say I’m not living in the lap of luxury however I’m not living in dirt. (Although I could be in Africa) I am not a woman of guilt but yet felt that way every time I had the opportunity to do something fun or even adventurous. I kept thinking that all my supporters would be disappointed if they knew I was zip lining or white water rafting, that I could be using my time more efficiently. Or even worse that they would think I was using their money to “be a tourist” I know this isn’t true and it is impossible to burn the candle at both ends for 11 months. I am working harder then I have in my entire life and playing just as hard on my days off.

I want to share ALL my experiences with you but many of them I felt were not blog worthy.  THIS IS GOING TO CHANGE! I’m sorry if you are reading my blog simply to be spiritually fed. God is teaching me so many things about myself just by living in intense community and trying on a new hat each month. He is transforming my heart and how I see the world. The way I communicate and interact with others has also started to change. I don’t know how to put in words the changing of my heart; I just know its happening

With that being said here is a mini blog of random “non blog worthy” things:

I went on one of the most beautiful yet difficult hikes of my life in Costa Rica:

Christmas was by far the most bizarre time on the race. I missed my family and traditions while having the most unique fun. It was extremely bitter sweet. We made our stolkings out of our actual socks and I got 7 bags of M&Ms and a few small fun gifts for Christmas and I loved it. Oh and I got a free ticket to the Russian Nutcracker on ice and went with two of my team mates. Not at all the Nuctcracker we know in America.

New Years: Got to celebrate it twice! First on an air plane then again at LAX. When at IN & OUT (restaurant) I met two old friends of my squad mate's. Two of the most phenominal woman filled with wisdom, love, wit, ambition, truth and pazzazz. Fabulous is an understatement. Other than meeting them the highlight of my New Years was staying at a hotel and taking a bath for the first time in months. Woot Woot Patrice and Stacy!

I went white water rafting in the Philippines!!!!

During our stay at New Faith Family Orphanage (Philippines) we were invited to a wedding of someone important's son. Did not actually meet the bride and groom until after the wedding. It was fun but a bit weird, I felt like a wedding crasher with and invitation.

This is a Suatty Potty found in Thailand. I do not like them and will try to hold it until I can find a Western toilet.
