My name is Sarah, and I am leaving for the World Race this Ocotober (2010) I first found out about the world race in Decemeber at a friend's wedding. I was very captivated and at the end of the night thats all I could think about. Two months later I went back to school at UW-Waukesha for my last semester and put the World race on the back burner, thinking of it maybe once a week. Summer was comming up and I still had not applied for schools to attend in the fall. About a week or so into summer I had lunch with a friends mom just talking about what was going on in my life and venting that I still did not have plans for the next school year. She asked me if I was still thinking of the world race? At that time I didnt really think a trip that intense would be something I could pull off.
As soon as I got home something inside of me just clicked and I went to the world race website and filled out all of the paper work and sent in my application.
Once I clicked send I told my mom and her reaction was more across the lines of, "your doing what" and "where did this come from" I didnt really have all of the answers my parents were looking for but knew that it would all fall in to place.
Now that you know how I got to the world race I'll give you some more about myself. Last summer I went to the Dominican Republic on a missions trip and absolutly fell in love with it. The things I got to experience and be a part of I will never forget. Once I was home I dont think I was as passionate about the same things as before. I knew the wold was bigger then the town I lived in.

I dont really ever have small news in my life, in fact I think I may be responsible for many of the grey hairs my dad has. or as he calls them platnum. I love my family very much and get along with them pretty well. My mom is a very strong woman who knows who she is and holds me accountable for my actions. She is my biggest fan and the first to put me in my place when need be. I love her so much and think she is an amazing woman. My dad is great too. He is probibly the smartest man I know, and Im not just saying that because hes my dad. The way he sees the world is a gift alot of people dont have. When he puts his mind to something he delivers. I also have a brother, Matt, who means the world to me.

I love being out side!! I recently got into fishing with some of my girlfriends and we have a blast being on the lake. I have a four wheeler that I dont ride as much as I would like to but love ridding when Im stressed. This summer I bought a dirt bike and really enjoy it even though Im not that proficient at it yet. I will try anything almost once and absolutly love being around my friends. I feel blessed for the family and frends I have but am ready to see the world, get out of my comfort zone and be pushed to my limit.
