My answer to my second debriefing question was really found when I answered my last one.
What has grabbed your heart and hasn’t let go?
If you read my last blog you read what my favorite ministry was. As that time ended and we transitioned to a very different month in Thailand I realized how much I LOVED what we were doing the month before. Now, three months later I realize how much that time meant to me. When I saw this question initially I didn’t think I had an answer, but after answering the last question and looking at what I thought was important to bring into this last month I realized it was this: I love sharing with and learning from the people around me about God’s word. I love the very special kind of fellowship and worship that happens when a group of people gather in a space and actively worship, pray and discuss our faith.
It reminds me of the early church, and church as the Bible describes it. It’s pure and simple and intimate and so beautiful.
I don’t know what else to say about it other than I know I want to make a place for it in my life when I get home. Whether that’s participating in small groups, finding or starting a House Church at home, or just creating a space for fellowship and discussion I don’t know yet. It might be all of those things (and I kind of hope it is all of those things).
