Hi There! I’m Sara!
Please bear with me I’ve never blogged anything before so this is a learning experience for me.
I’m from the beautiful state of Colorado and to be more specific south Denver in a town called Highlands Ranch. I cannot begin to describe just how excited I am to be a part of this Mission. It has been put on my heart how important it is to really stretch ourselves and to push ourselves out of our comfort zones. If we are comfortable where we are, especially in our spiritual journey, we become complacent and we are not growing. God put the World Race in my path and I could not be more excited to stretch and grow along side my team and the people we work will be with as part of this mission.
Just so you know a head of time I’m one of those people who will be more than happy to tell you my life story!
I love working with and meeting new people. Learning their stories is really what makes my day. Most of my work experience has been in tourism, hospitality, and retail. My favorite part of the work day is when you find a random connection to someone you just met! You never know who you will meet and what or who you may have in common!
I’m blessed with an amazing family. I have two loving, supportive and generous Christian parents Steve and Leslie, a crazy, dramatic, but very lovable much younger brother Alyx who is almost 10, an awesome older sister Faith, a kind brother-in-law Stephen, and an absolutely adorable little more than 1 year old nephew Sam.
We did our fair share of moving over the years. I was born in Norwich, Connecticut. We moved to Hopewell, New Jersey when I was 2 and then to Anchorage, Alaska when I was 8. Following Alaska we moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado in 2000. I moved by to Orlando, Florida in 2011 to continue working at Walt Disney World where I had started as a college program student in 2008. I worked with Disney for about 7 years and absolutely loved it! I moved back to Colorado at the end of January 2015. It has been a blessing to be back with my family and my home church Cherry Hills Community Church. I am a part of 2 amazing communities at my home church one which is our absolutely amazing choir who have been my second family for the last 14 years. I can always count on to be there for me. The second being our 20 somethings community which has given me the chance to make many new friends and catch up with old ones over the months I’ve been back.
