I wanted to write about the amazing group of people I have spent much of my time with over this last week. To most people they would be know as the choir at Cherry Hills Community Church, but to me they are all so much more than that, they are family! I have been incredibly blessed to have been a part of this family for almost 14 years. They are many of the most incredible people I have ever met. No where else have I ever felt so loved and supported than with them. When sharing with them my participation in the World Race they have come along side me and shown me more support than I could ever have imagined. It is an indescribable feeling to know that these people have my back, are holding my hands and will be with me through everything. I cannot thank them enough for being there for through all the ups and down that I have had in my life. There have been many and they have always been there for me.
Tonight wrapped up an amazing week. It was a week of worshiping with people who I consider family. It was a week of experiencing God’s love through music and getting to see him work through us! It is a feeling that simply leaves you speechless. I can not begin to describe how blessed I am to have been a part of it.
This week my home church Cherry Hills Community Church held an event called Christmas at the Ranch. Our week included a tech rehearsal, a dress rehearsal, 6 performances, and 2 Sunday Services. Needless to say it has been a busy week. On top of this we have been preparing the music for CATR since October. With all of this in mind we had quite a few people ask why and how we do it. The answer came easily not only did we get to spend our time worshiping God, we got to see people experiencing God through our music and hear their stories, but to top it all off I got to do all of this with my family!

One of the songs we sang for Christmas at the Ranch as well as this morning at service was an incredible song by Travis Cottrell called This is Our God. Jeremi our amazing director told us that to him this song sums up everything. and I can’t help but agree. Needless to say there weren’t many dry eyes after this song.
The lyrics to the first chorus are:
This is our God, living and breathing,
Call Him courageous, relentless and brave.
This is our God, loving and reaching,
Scandalous mercy and mighty to save.
And the second chorus is:
This is our God, suffering and dying.
Call Him the Hero, redeeming the lost.
This is our God, love sacrificing,
All that is holy, accepting our cross.
