My dearest family and friends,
As you already know, these past several months have been a whirlwind! There are so many things I have experienced in great abundance that I could not have expected; the love and support of so many friends and family, the generosity of strangers, the joy of letting go of all things comfortable and familiar to me, and yes- even sleeping in the great outdoors. Even greater than all of these I have experienced first hand the richness of God’s steadfast love for me more deeply than ever and how absolutely wonderful it is to share that love with others. For every centimeter of love I give away, I receive 10 times as much in return and that is a gift from the Lord!
If you have already contributed in supporting me on this journey, I want to continue to thank you! I could tell story after story of people who have given as freely as they have received and how special this journey has been for me in witnessing the generosity of others so personally! I HAVE OFFICIALLY REACHED (and surpassed) MY SECOND FUNDRAISER DEADLINE OF $10,000!!! This means that I am in the final stretch of my fundraising and have ONLY $5,157 left to raise. We can do this!!!
My next, and probably last fundraiser before I officially leave for The World Race in January, is called Race for Change! Here’s how it works…
I have 11 empty mason jars each designated for one of the eleven countries I will be going to. I am asking for 11 different people to adopt a mason jar/country and spend the month of November filling it with spare change as well as praying for the people I am going to meet! Throughout the month you can take the jar work, to school, leave it at home, and fill it with the change you find walking down the street, tucked between couch cushions, or from the pockets of friends who want to participate with you! At the end of November I will collect the jars, count up the change, and donate it all directly towards my fundraising account!
If you are interested, please let me know what country you would like to adopt for the month in the comment section below and I can deliver the jar to you either by person or by mail! Here are a list of the countries- Cambodia, Burkina Faso, and Montenegro have already been adopted!
Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Burkina Faso, Montenegro, Romania, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia
Change may seem small by itself, but when put together it can add up to a lot! If you are unable to participate in this fundraiser, please share this post and it may reach someone who can! Please also hit the “subscribe” button on my blog page so that you can receive direct updates!
All for His glory,
Sara
