Spanish definition for Huaico (pronounced wayko): mudslide
Huaico is one precious little result of the serious damage that has been done by the mudslides here in Peru.
The mudslides have come and brought terror. They have ruined homes. They have taken lives. Their rushing water and heavy mud intend harm and bring anything down that is in their path.
Huaico was found in the mudslides dirty, homeless, scared and alone.
Angie, the woman who found him, swept him up, washed him, fed him, and gave him a home with her that is abounding in unconditional love.
Jesus has done the same for us.
Although, like Huaico, we have done nothing to deserve the loving kindness and grace of Jesus, he has swept us up while we were still surrounded by a world full of disaster, hate, anger, and sin, washed us with his blood, fed us with his bread of life, let us us drink from his fountain so we will never thirst, and gave us a home with him that is abounding in steadfast love.
Hauico now lives as though He knows where His home is and who He belongs to. He follows Angie wherever she is in the room and wags his tail hard when she picks him up.
Let us know who we belong to.
Let our eyes follow the one who has saved us.
Let it be evident how excited we are to be in the presence of our Savior.
Thanks for the lesson Huaico.
You are magnificently loved,
Sara
