Hey everyone!!! Is this real life?? Has the Lord really called me to travel to 11 countries in 11 months to serve Him, share His love, and see people reached with the Gospel of Christ? He has! And it is no surprise to you all that I am completely undeserving of this opportunity.
So what is this thing called “The World Race” anyways? GREAT question- I’ll answer that!
The World Race is a program that is put on by Adventures in Missions, which is an organization that has been sending out missionaries since 1989. On The World Race, a team of pretty awesome people travel to 11 countries in 11 months serving the communities they are living in and sharing the Gospel along the way. Some of the mission work The World Race participates in is construction, working in orphanages, ministering to Human Trafficking victims, and so much more!
So now you’re thinking, “Wow, that sounds pretty amazing, but in the heck did you apply to that?” Another GREAT question!
I learned about The World Race last year and thought, “Yeah, I need to do that,” but then life happened and I forgot all about it. Then I got home for summer break and the Lord had laid this desire to participate on this journey back on my heart. I prayed and prayed about it and decided to apply and committed to the Lord that if I was accepted I would go! It turns out I was accepted, and after the Lord working out some logistical issues with student teaching, I committed!
And now I’m praying that you are thinking, “How can I help send Sara around the world to share the Gospel and see people reached for Christ?” PERFECT QUESTION!
In total, I need to raise $16,617 in order to attend this trip and lots of prayer! My first fundraising deadline is at the end of September and I need to have $5,000 raised! This money ensures that I am able to attend the mandatory training camp in October!
