HEY FRIENDS, FAMILY, & EVERYONE ELSE.

This stuff you see above are 4 major items that I received in the mail today that I will use as I travel around the world bringing the Gospel of Christ to unreached people: a backpacking backpack, a sleeping bag, a tent, and a sleeping pad. I will be traveling to 11 different foreign countries I have never been to, with a  large group of people I have yet to meet, investing in communities during one of the most politically and socially unstable and dangerous times in the history of the world, and its the above 4 items that have brought more fear to my life than anything else. If I am being completely vulnerable and honest, I have never been camping, never used a sleeping bag outside, and don’t have a single clue how to set up the tent that I will be sleeping in every night (praise God for friends who could help me figure out what to get in the first place).

I am just as shocked as all of you that the Lord has called me to this trip and that I am knowingly choosing to abandon the comfort of my bed, my closet, my pizza (yes, I love pizza) to live a completely different lifestyle, but I need you all to know that this is none of my own doing! Just as I have said, the Lord has called me to share His unconditional and perfect love to people of all nations and when the Lord says go, you go. And although I fear the thought of attempting to set up this tent for the first time, I am sure that God, the strong and faithful one, will be with me each step providing, protecting, and directing me towards his grace, love, and mercy. He is unconditional, perfect, and faithful beyond belief and I know that there is nothing to fear when I remember his promises. Not even a big, bad, scary tent.

     PRAISES:

As a reminder, I need $5,000 by the end of September as my first fundraising deadline in order to attend the mandatory training camp that helps to prepare me to attend The World Race. In just a week and a half the Lord has used His people to raise just over $3,000 which means I’m more than halfway to my first deadline (I know this isn’t all showing on my page yet, but it takes some time for donations to fully process)!!! PRAISE GOD! I am so thankful for this and I continue to pray over your hearts and invite you to give, both financially and in prayer, if that is what the Lord lays on your heart to do!

Along with needing to raise money for the rest of my $16,617, I also need to gain supplies! I have invested in a lot of equipment already, like the scary tent, confusing backpack, and interesting sleeping bag, but there are a few more things I need and want to invite you to look at the list below to see if you have any of this stuff laying around your house, attic, or garage that you would be willing to donate!

  • Small towel (sarongs are recommended)
  • Travel locks and key rings to lock my backpack and daypack
  • Clothes line
  • Packing cubes for my backpacking backpack*
  • Spoon, fork, plate, bowl, and mug made for camping/backpacking
  • A daypack (12L-22L)*

(items with a * are my biggest needs!)

Thank you again for taking the time to to read this, pray about my trip, and consider giving in any way you can! I will be posting some more specific fundraising things I will be doing in the upcoming weeks/months! The easiest way to give is by clicking the donate button on this page which leads you to a secure giving site! Please also consider subscribing to my blog so I can send you updates whenever I post throughout the trip so you can see what the Lord is doing all over the world! You are so loved!!

All glory be to Christ,

Sara
