Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
– James 1:7
Four years ago, God called me to take, what would be at that time, the most radical leap of faith. In doing so, He reminded me that I could never truly give up anything for Him because it all belongs to Him but He also promised me that anything I gave up, He would give it back to me, multiplied. (How lucky am I!?!?)
Last year I lived in Thessaloniki, Greece working alongside the A21 Campaign with girls that had been rescued from human trafficking. If you know me, you know I invest a huge chunk of my heart wherever I go – oh how I loved my girls in Greece!! When I left, a piece of my heart stayed there. Luckily, my “greek roomie” Angel (who is actually American and lives in Florida) and I decided we would have a reunion trip back to see our beautiful girls! After preliminary travel plans were made I kept getting a prompting from God to cancel the trip. I was so nervous to tell Angel. I cried my eyeballs out. Can I tell you, Angel is the kind of friend every girl dreams of!! When I told her she responded with such love and truly and completely understood the importance of listening God promptings (she is, afterall, the girl who changed her wedding date because God called her to Greece…she is such an incredible inspiration!)
I knew God had something in the works and later realized the tentative Greece trip conflicted with my World Race training BUT as God would have it, He had a sneak surprise in store for me. This week I got phenomenal news and was invited to {unexpectedly} travel to Greece to do ministry for a week!! What a beautiful surprise and God dropped an affirmation in my spirit that lovingly told me this was just a reminder of the promise He gave me! I am in awe!!!!
God, thank you for being a good father. Thank you for giving such good gifts :: Thank you for exceeding my every expectation, for giving me things I don’t even think or know to ask for. I love you so much!!
