I march down the trail, the red African dust kicking up behind me. With each step I take, I declare the soil I walk on, belongs to God. Wherever I tread, wherever I place my feet, this is now territory being claimed for God.
I don’t take this lightly. I know there is a war for people’s souls. But I came to share the Good News. I came to share the news that flipped my world upside down. The news that changed my heart and mind forever. The truth that Jesus came to set the people of Africa free and give them eternal life.
“And for those who lived in a Land where death casts its shadow, a light has shined.”
Its uncharted territory but we have permission to be here. The Chief of the village has recently learned about God and, with his authority, he has granted me the right and privilege of coming into their territory to share about Jesus.
“I say wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe for harvest…” John 4:34
As we enter the village, the people run out from their huts to gather around. They set up mats and chairs in the front of them. We are the guests of honor and they cling to our every word. Thank you Jesus, for giving me Your Words. My words are not my own as I speak of life and salvation to a people hungry for God. The spiritual realm here is very open here.
As we begin going door to door, the Chief of the village walks alongside me. The tribe members clap with respect as we walk by. His mere presence commands respect. The people listen even more intently, knowing I have the Chiefs endorsement stamp. People comment on what an honor it is to walk with the Chief; to have him walk alongside me. I agree, but know I have an even Higher power walking alongside me. I walk with the King of Kings, everywhere I go. I carry His power and authority, everywhere I go.
“All we have accomplished is really from you” – Isaiah 26:12
Two weeks in Africa since I landed in Africa. 100’s of people have been saved. A new church has been planted in this village. The chief of the neighboring village gave his life to Christ. God is moving. People are being healed when I pray.
I can’t explain it.
Only God.
