A few weeks ago I shared about my house and housemates in a blog titled “A New Home.”

This week I’m going to share about the “track” portion of CGA.

So what exactly is a track?

CGA provides specialized training in an area of your choosing. They call them “tracks,” and they can focus on anything from worship, justice, healing, field leadership, teaching English, or compassion.

I have chosen to be a part of the Field Leadership track during my semester here. My hope when I came home from the race was to eventually head back overseas, leading short-term trips… to have a team of young people, and spend my time serving them. I know there is so much to learn before leading a team overseas, and that’s why I decided to come to CGA and join the leadership track.

In the afternoons, from 1:30-5:00, the leadership track meets and we are taught about (you guessed it)…leadership.

And I’m absolutely loving it.

There is so much I want to learn, and every day we’re handed material that can change and grow the way we view leadership. We’ve discussed self-awareness, approval addiction, leadership styles, empathetic listening, and “servant leadership” as it pertains to the life of Jesus.

I am so thankful to those of you who have financially donated and prayerfully supported me so that I can be here learning these lessons and skills, living in community, and taking steps towards the dreams God’s placed in my heart.

**I’m still short of my financial goal, and the deadline is November 12th. If you would like to donate, click here. Make sure you select Center for Global Action (CGA) next to “Choose Program.”

…because everyone should be able to enjoy the beauty of the sunset over I-75.

Stay tuned to hear about what our mornings consist of at Adventures in Missions…aka “The Adventures of our Traveling Office.”
