We recently finished a series in “Big Church” (serving in kidMin, this is what we call our Adult service) entitled SEVEN about the 7 deadly sins. The particular week that God spoke to me, our Pastor was discussing Sloth. He said something along the lines of, “sometimes we don’t want to do it, but God wants us to do it.”
That was me with The World Race…I DID NOT WANT TO DO IT! I researched it, read blogs, watched videos and said no thank you, I’m not ready. Well, God had a different idea. When Pastor David said that God wants us to do it, God said to me, “yes I do.” He told me that I was going on the World Race. I cried for the rest of the service. I was scared.
I applied the next day, and here I am…writing my 1st blog! No fear, stepping out in faith, ready (I think) to face the world, to share God’s love, to serve where HE sends me. I want to SHINE my LIGHT!
Hi, my name is Sara Clifton Markley Shaneor (yes, that is seriously my name). Everyone has a field day with it, you can too. I live in Elizabethtown, PA, which is a hop, skip and jump from Amish country. I have a Psych degree from Elizabethtown College.
My parents live 5 minutes down the road from me and I am very grateful I get to see them almost everyday. My brother, Patrick, passed away in May 2011 from a Heroin overdose. He had such a hard life, made poor choices and really suffered from depression. He is now free, happy and in the presence of our amazing God! We should all be jealous of him. I miss him, but know he’s in the best place imaginable.
I attend LCBC (Lives Changed by Christ) and I am definitely one of those lives. It’s a HUGE church, around 10,000 members, but God has blessed me with the most amazing friends who make it feel like home! And I have had the priviledge to mentor a great group of teens who keep my life interesting.

1. I’m adopted
2. I love to dance and miss taking hip hop classes
3. I’ve been on 3 missions trips in the last 6 years: 2 to Guatemala and 1 to Honduras. I have also been to Ireland on vacation.
4. I LIVE to worship God- I served for 7 years as part of kidWorship for 2 year olds-4th grade at my church…which consists of roughly 300 kids and 40 leaders. 
5. I am a TSS (therapeutic staff support)…I work 1 on 1 with a 2nd grader that has Autism. I have been with him for 4 years. It will be very difficult to say good-bye when I leave for the Race.
6. I cry EVERY single time I hear or sing “Jesus Paid it All” no matter where I am.
7. I wanna “tell the world” that Jesus lives!
8. I play soccer, indoor and outdoor
9. I love animals
10. I love to read
11. I write poetry, draw a little and paint a little.
12. I am totally addicted to Phineas and Ferb.
13. I could eat sushi everyday and never get sick of it.
14. I don’t understand Twitter
15. I am so excited to be part of the July 2012 World Race!!
