As difficult as it may be to take this leap of faith that is fast approaching in July, I AM ALL IN! I have no doubt that this is exactly what God wants me to do. I have no doubt that God will provide the remaining $5000 that I need! I have no doubt that I will continue to grow in relationship with each of my squadmates. And I have no doubt that God will not only use me to bring people to Him, but He will also use His people to change me!
Here are a few things that have been reinforcing in my heart and mind that the World Race is what God has planned for me:
-it seems that every teaching at my church has been speaking directly to me, saying “you are doing the right thing” “this is how God will use you” and “this is what God wants from you.” This past weekend we heard how extraordinary moves of God begin with ordinary acts of obedience and how God performs the most impressive feats with the most unimpressive people. Well folks, that’s me…unimpressive. So bring on the impressive feats Lord! I want to be a wave jumper! Here I am Lord, holding up my hands and knowing that You will lift me at just the right time so that I can jump the wave without getting smacked in the face!
-God continually provides for me through financial support, emotional support and much needed motivation. He always places the exact right person in my path at the exact right moment to help keep me moving forward no matter where my thoughts are.
-all the things in my current life and my current place are being wrapped up and brought to an end nicely. I know that my parents will take care of things here while I’m gone. I have an end point in view for my work and I am at peace with it. One of my best friends is pregnant and she will be having her baby about 2 weeks before I leave! Thank you Jesus for allowing me to meet baby Ian before he’s a year old! And I have almost everything I need for this new journey…from gear, to books, to clothing, to electronics…and about half of it was provided for me from other people!
-He has provided wonderful opportunities for me to meet some of my squadmates and one girl from another July squad! I feel supported and loved by my G’s and we haven’t technically met yet!
-God has grown a friendship between me and a World Racer who is currently out in the field. He is experiencing many of the same things I will face in the upcoming year. God has used this friendship to ease many of my fears and concerns of the unknown.
-I have also been growing leaps and bounds in my prayer life! God has given me a new family of about 65 people who are now near and dear to my heart. I pray for them daily and continue to pray for my friends and family here. Prayer has not always been an easy thing for me, but now I jump at the chance to pray for others!
I am so far beyond EXCITED to travel the world, to experience things that are new and scary and wonderful! I am not of this world, but while I’m here, it is truly a blessing to be part of something so much bigger than me, than any of us! Thank you to everyone who is making this trip a reality! And may God continue to bless each of you in the big life choices and the little details of every day!
