Hey everyone…I have about 6 months until my training camp in May where I will get to meet, in person, all my new friends on my squad, and about 7 months before I leave American soil for 11 months to serve God all over the world! Wow, time is flying!
This is what my new friend, Erica Denton, refers to as a “half way blog” meaning: an update about how you can help get me set to depart this lovely country and make sure I’m fully funded before that departure. That way I can focus all my attention, my heart, my mind on doing what God has called me to do: serve others. This way I won’t have to stress about raising funds while I’m in other countries.
Okay…have I got your full attention? Are you thinking….YUP, I TOTALLY WANT TO HELP?
Well thanks to some incredibly generous friends and family members, I have
already raised $2834.96 within about 2 or 3 months of fundraising (INCREDIBLE)..but now it's time to get more on the ball!
So here are answers to questions that I’m sure some of you have:
What will my donation go to?
Your donation doesn't just go to me…it’s not really just for me to live…it’s so I can do God’s work in many many different ways. Your money will send me to teach
English, do construction, paint buildings, do street ministries, build relationships with prostitutes in Thailand-offer them job training and the love of Jesus, preach the gospel, evangelism, love on children and lead worship…so many opportunities. I pray that I have the opportunity to focus mainly on loving others as Jesus loves me and bringing hope to everyone I come in contact with.
How much do you have to raise again? $15,500.
And here’s how it is divided up for the 11 months:
The $15,500 is broken into these categories:
Training Camp (in May) – $320
Field Support – $620
WR Development Program – $1860
Administration Fees – $2,635
World Racer (ME) – $10,075
Okay, so now…how are the WORLD RACER expenses divided?
Intercontinental Travel – $4,235
Food – $1,256.25
Lodging – 1,758.75
Transportation – $1,005
Long Distance Travel/Misc. Supplies – $1,115.55
So now that you know what the money is going to, here's how you can help!
1. Pray! Simple huh? Yep it is. Pray for people to respond to whatever
the Lord asks them to give. And pray for me and my team as we prepare and travel
2. Participate in the fundraisers that I set up.
-upcoming: Isaacs night, Pampered Chef/Thirty One, Valentine’s Day babysitting, puzzle piece sale.
3. Buy some bracelets from me! They are $2.00 a bracelet and they make
great presents for Christmas, birthdays, holidays, and special occasions. Not only are you helping me, but you're providing for families in the Philippines.
4. Simply donate. $20 will get so far. Wanna know how far? If 100 people donate JUST $20, that's $20oo. And if 100 people committed $20 a month for just 6 months, I'd be at $12,000! I know this is a lot of numbers but it is sooooo easy!
