Have you ever ridden in an Amish buggy? Or experienced an Amish buggy drive-thru?
This was my Saturday morning! I went for my very first buggy ride which is somewhat crazy considering I live in Amish country…welcome to Lancaster County, PA! What's even crazier is that I didn't plan the trip, a friend from VA did! LOL
Whilst partaking in this wonderful new experience, we lost a tire which left us riding on the metal rim and making a horrible grinding noise. We felt super safe! Ha! We also pulled up to a roadside stand at the end of a farmhouse lane…resulting in our 1st Amish buggy drive-thru! A young boy wheeled a cart out to the buggy and sold us whoopie pies, rootbeer, cookies and salsa through the windows of our buggy. Coolest thing ever! And best peanut butter whoopie pies in the world!
It was a great opportunity for us (teens and adults) to step out of our "everyday" and witness and learn about a different culture, meet new people, hear amazing stories and share our own stories!
