Yes, I am alive. In case anyone was worried.
Month 6 in Romania has been amazing, challenging, beautiful and FREEZING!!
I began the month partnered with Team Ignition in Targu Mures (northern Romania) after a ridiculous travel day from Swaziland, including a layover in Instanbul, being dropped off at a train station at 2am with snow up to our knees and no electricity for our two hour wait, boarding the wrong train at 4am and having to trek through the snow again to board the right train (a process which involved the help of a kind stranger…and her dog…)…but we made it!

There is SO much snow here. I've never been so cold in my life! But it's a welcome change from the heat of the African summer and a nice break before we head to Central America in the ridiculous heat of summer there as well.
My time in Targu Mures was spent visiting local "willages" (as our Hungarian friends say), praying in people's homes, visiting university campuses and spending time pouring in to each other as family. The area of Romania we were living in was a part of Hungary for almost 1000 years before the first World War, and since then there has been a great divide between the Hungarian and Romanians, as well as dissent between Romanians and gypsies. It was an honor to carry the name of Jesus into these homes and villages and speak unity and peace over the places we went.

A sweet lady who invited us in and fed us homemade chocolate croissants and Fanta and let us sing for her

Still not quite sure how this works when all the clothes get icicles…

homemade meals and Kat's first meatloaf experience!
Month 6 has also brought some pretty big changes in my Race. Stay tuned for part 2 to find out what God has been working out in the past few days (and why I've been holding off on blogging)!
