So I’ve left my precious babies at Casa Jackson and moved on to month TEN in HONDURAS!
(Make sure you watch the video in my previous blog that Kathryn Law made about our month!)

This month is FULL of the Lord’s promises. At the end of last month God spoke to me about Joshua 13. In this chapter, the Lord begins to speak to Joshua. He says “You are very old and there are still very large areas of land to be taken over.” Joshua 13:1

Previous to this conversation, Joshua has seen some pretty HUGE victories. He’s seen the walls of Jericho fall just by the sound of voices and led the people across the Jordan. He has defeated Ai and seen the sun stand still in the sky. There are pages and pages of victories…”Joshua defeated this king” and “Joshua won this battle” and “This army cowered in fear because of Joshua’s courage.”

And after all that, God tells Joshua that the battles aren’t over. The war isn’t won just yet. There is still an inheritance for the people, a promise to be fulfilled for the faithful. There is still more to come.

That’s exactly what the Lord has been reminding Z Squad of this week.

Around here, we’ve been celebrating the victories that we’ve seen Jesus win in our lives and trusting Him that His promises for us are sure and coming to fruition.

His promises are true, always. His promises are hand crafted, unique for each son and daughter and yet they stand the test of time in His Word.

My best friend and college roommate Rebecca Weaver went on the October 2010 World Race. Her first month was slated to be in Guatemala, but this whole race is full of surprises and she wound up with Tony Deien at Zion’s Gate ministries in Honduras. She spent the month falling in love with the street boys that live here, especially Carlos, and teaching English in a school and visiting colonies (neighborhoods) to tell them and show them the love of Jesus.

Nearly two years later, I find myself with Carlos’ arm around my waist as we look at pictures of our mutual best friend Rebecca. I am signed up to teach English and work with the women of the colony of Los Pinos. I am ready to lead worship on street corners and invade colonies on Saturdays where no white people have ever been.

The Lord is faithful to His promises. He has been faithful to the work He started here with Rebecca and is continuing with me. He is faithful in redeeming the hearts of His children.

What are His promises for you?

What have you been asking for that you’ve lost hope in?

The Lord does NOT disappoint. He does not move in our time frame but He does move.

Jesus IS who He says He is.

Jesus WILL do what He says He will do.

What are His promises for you?
