This Christmas, things looked a little different than usual. Here in Mozambique, I had the privilege of celebrating with half of my Z family, including all of my old team H.O.P.E. team mates, my new Team Sound ladies, and some of my favorite people!
We were truly blessed and provided for throughout the entire Christmas weekend, from our staff party and white elephant gift exchange (also known now and forevermore as Mark Law day in honor of the provider of our excellent Mozambiquan meal of grilled chicken, cole slaw and french fries!) to our candlelight Christmas Eve service to our fantastic Christmas morning breakfast of french toast and biscuits and gravy!
This year, the hustle and bustle of shopping was replaced with notes, chocolate and diet coke for my secret Santa. Stockings full of treats were replaced with "sockings" full of words of life and affirmation. We worshipped Jesus in the most intimate way, taking communion as a body and singing praises to our God who has so richly blessed us.
This Christmas has been all about the One, the King who stepped down from glory and entered into our lives in the most humble way. He came to claim the victory, that we might have life and have it to the FULL. As Jesus lay in the manager, God saw the veil torn in the temple that would bridge the gap between His heart and mine.
Praise be to God, who has loved us more than we could ever imagine! Praying that the peace of Christ rules in your hearts this holiday season, however you may find yourself celebrating.
(Team Sound missing our beautiful Shannon!)
