It's about funding.
I'm going to be frank. I'm tired of asking for money. No one enjoys being poked at and annoyed because someone needs funds to do something. I use to be a student caller (aka an annoying telemarketer) for my university and we had to say this every time someone picked up the phone:
Good evening. Is Mr. or Mrs. John Doe there?
Who is this?
My name is Sara calling from Illinois State University and I would like to speak to Mr. or Mrs. John Doe about the advancements the university has made. I am aware the Mr. John Do—

Hello?
Ouch. Yeah, it stung a little. Imagine doing that for a year. I had to get a certain amount of donations a month and if I did not meet it, I could've gotten the boot. Glad I decided that this was not my life calling.
Though I was not gifted to be a telemarketer, serving others the way Christ served his church, is my passion. It's the reason I have a social work degree and not a business one. It's people. The interaction, communication, the stories, giving resources, listening, praying, intercession, giving, loving and ultimately presenting people to Jesus, THAT is what I love. It's not always easy. It's sometimes even exhausting, but so well worth it. The thing that makes life worth living is knowing that I get to tell others about this amazing man who took everything that is inadequate, incomplete, broken, wrecked, unredeemable about me, and brought me to wholeness, freedom, joy, peace, complete satisfaction and called me holy, pure, blameless, righteous, redeemable, loved and gave me the title of daughter.
How amazing is God?! And I have the privilege to tell people around the world about him? Me?

Yes. I have the undeserved privilege to live, breath and walk like Jesus because he awoke my heart to follow him.
And that is what I am doing today. Lord willing, I have three more countries to go until I can come home.
BUT…
I might be asked to come home soon if I can't get the funds to stay on the race. So here's what you can do to help.
If you have the financial resources to donate, and if the Lord is leading you to give, please do so by clicking the support button on the left. I am $4,296 away from reaching the $15,500 mark. Anything helps.
Tell others about my race by sharing my blog. And above all else, continue to lift us up in prayer. 19 other squad-mates are also not fully funded (check out iSquad on the left panel).
Help me not get the boot!
God bless.
Sara
