1-11-11
i have no idea what that is in the binary number system, but january 11 is human trafficking awareness day.  11 has special significance for me, for the world race in general, ’cause it’s part of our “brand” – 11 countries, 11 months.  i’m terrible at math, but this is the little equation i came up with:
human trafficking awareness
+ the world race
= human trafficking edition of the world race.

here are a couple of ways to learn more:
  • this post on my other blog
  • from laura meyers, one of my squadmates, who’s leading the human trafficking world race squad
  • from matt snyder, former mobilization/marketing colleague who shaved his beard to raise support to go on the human trafficking world race

my friends laura and matt are going to do something.  i know some things about human trafficking – that it happens everywhere, including here.  that to end it, we’ll need to prevent it, rescue people from it, and restore those who’ve survived it.
i just wonder how i can get involved in that and how i can get others involved in that… sometime soon-ish, hopefully i’ll have a follow-up post “to end slavery: take action” up.  i have some ideas that i wanna run by God and some of my faith family.  stay tuned…
