namaskaar from india! the queen of the hills where the british made their summer homes, we get around these steep inclines with our own legs (mine are littler than the others).
i’m a little tardy, but i feel led to fast from blogging and participating in march madness for this season of lent. i was gonna try to make it a wholesale internet fast, but, who am i kidding? just me. ha.
we will be encouraging believers here and some places a few hours away from here, visiting them in their homes, serving in church alongside them. we also will be visiting hospitals and pursuing whatever other opportunities the Lord presents to us. i look forward to telling you more in detail about it here in a few weeks.
but for now, let me just say that the streak of exploding expectations continues strong; i thought this month would be the hardest one. food hasn’t given me much trouble, it’s actually much cooler than we thought it would be, i love the traditional suits we get to wear on sundays, and given the tourist attraction this place is, the economic poverty isn’t as apparent here. aside from the (possibily rabid, pickpocketing) monkeys that wander about the hills, and how we seem to climb everywhere, i get this sense that i will really enjoy this month – i don’t think i’m premature in saying that i’m in love with this place. we don’t have much time left here, which makes me a bit sad.
continue to keep us in prayer. “see” you in a few!
p.s. poor georgetown. perhaps it’s best i’m abstaining from filling out brackets this year. 🙁
