1. I am a big sister to five young men whom I love tremendously. They bring me so much joy every time I'm around them. They have the ability to make me laugh at the small stuff.
2. I spent six months serving in an orphanage in the Dominican Republic with some of the coolest kids ever. I also had some pretty awesome sisters who taught me so much. It was there that I learned about HOPE! (Esperanza, hope in Spanish, is tattoed across the top of my foot)
3. I absolutely love the beach. It doesn't matter what time of the year it is I love it! One of God's best creations hands down.
4. I have been "training" to run a marathon for a good two years now and for some reason I just can't be consistent enough to actually complete even a 5k haha.
5. I love gerber daisies. Favorite flowers of all time!
6. I have built close relationships with several of the youth at my church and I've learned so much through them. It's hard to believe how fast they are growing up. It seems like yesterday that they were in sixth grade and now they are seniors getting ready to graduate.
7. I love playing ultimate frisbee with the awesome group of kids from #6.
8. I love baseball. My brothers all played when they were younger so I think it's more of a sentimental thing from our times growing up.
9. I love watching FRIENDS! My best friend and I used to have Friends and pizza night. Those were great times. She now has a little family and I will miss them sooo much!
10. I love being in different cultures. Traveling has always been exciting for me…11 countries…awe yeah!
11. I love love love pumpkin flavored things. Muffins, bagels, cookies…you name it.
12. Holidays are the absolute best. Thanksgiving and Christmas are my favorite. I think it's because it's the easiest time to get all of us together.
13. My favorite movie of all time is the Sound of Music. Julie Andrews is one of my favorite actresses. She's just so darn talented! Dancing in the living room with Betine to the hills are alive has happened on more than one occassion.
14. I've discovered a new love of bike riding with some good friends of mine. They were so patient with me!
15. I am lucky to have some really great families to mentor me through life. Without these people I may not have had the courage to join the Race! I really look up to them.
The most important thing about me is that I have a passion for missions. I am so excited to go to the nations and share God's love. Children have a special place in my heart and although I'm not sure what my future holds I do know that that will play a huge part in what I do with my life. I'm learning to allow God to use me as He sees best fit to furthering His perfect plan.
