Hi family and friends!
I received such good feedback on the Thailand videos that my teammate dani made that I want to pass along her Cambodia videos! Many of the recaps below were highlighted in my last newsletter (click here if you missed it!), but sometimes moving pictures help tell a story better — plus they have sound! So watch and enjoy!
[DISCLAIMER: Since these are dani’s videos, she has been adding personal dedications for her supporters at the end of each video. So don’t feel bad if you don’t watch to the end!]
TRAVELING TO AND THRU CAMBODIA!
This video recaps our travel day from Thailand to Cambodia, from our short stay in Siem Reap to our drive down to our ministry site in Kampong Chhnang — on the bed of a pickup truck for 8 hours! Fun times!
MINISTRY!
These next four videos capture what life was like in the Cambodian countryside — from our daily chores (video #1) and fun in the kitchen (video #2) to our manual labor around the ranch property (video #3) and also our Sunday ministry of visiting local churches (videos #3 and #4)!
Side note: the last video shows a tractor accident that our team got into on the way to our first church visit. Our host lost control of the tractor and swerved to the side of the road, launching a few of our team members onto the ground. Luckily for us, a tree was in the way to stop the tractor. Our team was pretty shook up after the incident, but praise the Lord that we only came away from it with a few bumps and bruises and nothing more serious!
OFF DAY FUN!
These next few videos highlight our off day experiences this month — from checking out Angkor Wat (video #1) and enjoying a weekend getaway in Kampong Chhnang city (videos #2 to #4) to exploring Phnom Penh before traveling out of Cambodia and into Vietnam (video #5)!
Side note: the last video of our weekend getaway in Kampong Chhnang city (video #4) has clips of the very special Sunday service that we attended. And there’s even footage of two Korean teens doing a special song and of me talking to an older Korean missionary couple after the service!
MORE CAMBODIAN FUN!
And these last videos are two of my favorites.
In the first, dani does an incredibly creative and beautiful job of capturing our daily life and work in Cambodia from the perspective of our hands. Very cool!
And in the second, our team did a fun “confessional” video of some of the things that may or may not have happened throughout the month. I love this one so much because it reminds me of one of my favorite TV shows of all time — The Office! Hope you enjoy!
So I hope you all enjoyed these videos as much as we enjoyed living them! Our February in Cambodia was definitely a memorable time for each of us, as we were thrown head first into “The World Race style” of community living!
There are a few more random videos of our times in the countryside of Kampong Chhnang so check out dani’s YouTube channel (link below) for even more fun!
