At the end of each year I love looking back at all the memories that I made with my family and friends, the good memories and the bad memories. But no matter what the memory is, I always look at it as a blessin’ or a lesson. I strongly believe that God puts people in your life and it is your job to figure out why. Each person in your life right now is either a blessin’ or a lesson. Unfortunately, we will never know right away how that person will effect your life until later. Looking back at the beginning of 2016, I started the year out with people I thought I would end 2016 with. However, I found out that some of those people were lessons. But I will never look at it as being a bad thing! Everyone that has been in your life has molded you to the person that you are today. It takes a couple mistakes to realize the truth. I have come to realize that even if they are a lesson, they can also be a blessing because God put them into your life and brought them out of your life for some reason. In 1st Corinthians 15:33 it says “Do not be deceived: Bad company ruins good morals.” While I am thankful that my “old friends” passed through my life, I am encouraged by my new friends and the future adventures I will have with them.

This year I am blessed to not only start off 2017 with a couple new people, but I am also blessed to have gained a “squad” of friends too. My squad is the group of people that I will be spending 9 months with on the World Race Gap Year. I have only known them for a small amount of time but I already know that they will be in my life forever! We have a group chat with everyone in the squad and there has not been a day that we have not talked! I feel like I already know them even though I have not met them in person yet. God put this group of people in my life and I already know that they will be blessings!
