Ever since training camp, we have all been encouraged to have a ‘yes’ in our spirit – meaning to say yes to God. I have to say… I didn’t fully understand what that meant until recently, or at least I wasn’t grasping what God was wanting me to say yes to. From the start of my 11 month journey in Belize to here in the closing week of being in Honduras, there are a few things that I have been able to see more clearly that I’ve been needing to say yes to and doing so have made me feel more free and joyful 🙂

  • It was within the very first week in Belize where the Lord led Isaac and I share with two teenage boys so He could bring them to salvation. We had a few other opportunities to share God’s word in that month as well, though before this trip and even during I did not consider myself to be an evangelist. Here in Honduras I was asked to be an evangelism coordinator for a large group of people at the Awakening – a weekend where our squad got together with K-Squad in their 4th month and F-Squad in their 11th for a time of rest and spiritual refreshment.
  • Since even before training camp I had wanted to encourage my squad mates with words and stories (which I’ve had a few opportunities to do so) but at the Awakening God was also calling me back to intercessory prayer – which I used to be more intentional and passionate about and spent more time in, though prior to the Awakening I had first considered my words more important and it was more what I wanted to do. But God’s will is better.
  • At the Awakening, the Lord spoke through a speaker that I need to be grateful for who God made me. To be honest I had rarely, if ever, even thought about that previously. I spoke directly to me as I have indeed struggled with not being able to relate to many people in my life on the account of me being different and wondering if there was something wrong with me (which God also spoke about in a different way through a vision).

I don’t know what else is coming in the future that I will need to say yes to. As for right now I am saying yes to whatever He leads me in through circumstances and His sovereignty, words from Him, or others who He speaks to me through. You should do the same, because God’s plans are way better than yours – and if you will first believe it, you will then see it 😀
