This is Phoung 🙂 Right off the bat I must say she is the funnest person I met in Vietnam…. Every time she came to English club we’d always have laughs about something hahaha. My favorite things about her are her facial expressions, trying to teach me proper pronunciation (mostly her name lol! I could not get it right!) and I think most of all her laugh and her… I guess you could call it a catchphrase? She often says, “Woaaaahhh…” and she laughs like, “Ahihi” (I wish you could actually hear both) We took many funny pictures together 🙂
So here is how she ended up getting the handkerchief for Vietnam… 🙂
Just like Honduras and El Salvador, I had a feeling I wouldn’t know who was getting it until close to the end of the month. One day we all had a karaoke night instead of our regular English club (Same night the above picture was taken) Close to the end of the night Phoung started sneezing a whole lot and her nose was a little runny. It was weird because she was ok the whole night up until then. It was out of no where. I thought I saw her clean her nose with a finger (not sure, haha) I said, “hold on, I have something for you! I’ll be right back…” So she waited. I ran upstairs to get a handkerchief and went back down to give it to her. I think she thought it was used so I let her know it was brand new, hahaha. Vietnam was such a great experience, and this friend of mine made it a little bit better 🙂
