Hey everyone!! I know its been a while since I have posted but I wanted to give y’all an update before i go into the rest of the post. Currently I am knocking on the door of $2,500 which is a great number to be at. However I still have a long way to go to hit the $15,800 goal. I am planning out a few fundraisers so as soon as I get those things planned out I will share them and then we can really get the ball rolling.

But know for the real part of the blog. During our small group for our youth program the past few weeks we have been talking about mentors. And I feel like I need to dedicate some time to recognize those people that have really played a huge part not only in making me into the young man that I am today but also helping me grow in my faith in Christ and helping me to make the best decisions I can for myself to help me become the best version of myself that I can be.

Now of course I feel like I should start with my parents. They have been with me since day 1. They brought me up and have taught me manners, how to act, right from wrong, and way to many other things to type. But I think most importantly they taught me how to treat people with kindness and respect. Even though I sometimes struggle and fail with this I still try to live my life with peace, love, and positivity. I think this is the way that I am being lead to live and it is why I am going on this journey to spread those attributes in places where people have never received them.

The next people are people who probably don’t realize the impact that they have made on my life. They have brought me closer to Christ and helped me find myself and be comfortable with myself. Which honestly was and still is a big thing for me because as a teenager finding your identity is one of the biggest things you have to do. You also have that sense of wanting to belong and wanting to fit in. These people gave me an opportunity to let my voice be heard and supported me all along my high school struggles. These people are Amanda Hardeman, Lauren and Jackson Christenberry, Dominique Ramirez, Andrew and Kelsee Hudson, Johnny Brower, and the rest of the youth ministries staff along the years I want to extend a huge thank you for helping me and giving me such great people to follow after.

The next group of people is jokingly what I refer to as my second family. But as I think of them more closely I realize that that statement is becoming more and more true. They love me, care about my well being, always check up on me, they are free counselors, and they do so much else i don’t even know how to put in to words. They also trust me driving around their kids which only the lord knows why because i’m not the best driver. They have made me apart of their families and always kept me in check with the threat of a beating with chanclas so thank you to the Gery’s, Plumlee’s, Johnson’s, and Robert’s.

I also would like to thank everyone that I volunteer with at church because if you know it or not you have helped to put the values that we teach the kids into me. And for that you will forever have my gratitude.

So with that I would like to leave you with this. 2 Timothy 2:2 “The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” Everyone that has had an impact on my life has given me a tool that I can now go on and teach others.
