This month we are in Chiang Mai, Thailand working with an amazing ministry called Lighthouse In Action. I am excited beyond words to be serving an organization that is doing something and taking a stand against sex trafficking and modern-day slavery! Lighthouse in Action is comprised of Zion Cafe, Love Acts, and XLife which offers many different ministry opportunities to the people of Thailand. This month my team is working alongside of team Peculiar Treasures and Throne Unveiled. My team primarily serves in Zion Cafe, while the other two teams serve in the bar ministry in the Red Light district and the slum ministry in the Thai villages. One of the primary goals of Lighthouse is to share Jesus by loving the young girls who are in the sex traffic industry. Lighthouse is such reputable organization and God is pouring into the lives of so many through this ministry. Zion Cafe provides a safe and loving atmosphere for Bible studies, English lessons, or for those met at the bars to come and fellowship. My team works in the Cafe by waiting tables, assisting in food preparation, sweeping, moping, hosting events, and, my personal favorite, getting to know the Zion staff. Three nights a week we put on a game night, karaoke night, and worship night.
Our schedule at Zion Cafe allows us to be a part of the bar and slum ministries as well as intercessory prayer sessions. God has been waking me up before the sunrise (long before my alarm clock goes off) and I’ve been spending hours alone in the word and in prayer. Christ has really been captivating me as He reveals more of His heart to me. The gospels have been coming more and more alive as I read and study. I have also been reading, “The Sacred Romance” by John Eldredge. This intentional time has been very fruitful as God is making more of himself known to me.
I am so thankful for this season and am excited for what God is doing here through us and for us!
