Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas! I hope that you all had an amazing Christmas season and a great time with family and friends.
This Christmas was a beautiful time to focus on the Lord and his birth. I got to spend time with my friends that have become family. We were able to experience the love and joy that is Christ’s birth and the excitement that the holidays bring!!!
We woke up to Santa’s helper who left presents under the tree. Which was chocolate and notes for my teammates!
We then got on an hour long bus ride, as we rode off to our hosts house. There was a man sitting next to me that had some sort of tropical baby bird in a box that squawked the whole way haha!
Once the bus dropped us off at the mall and we were waiting for our host we found a Starbucks! Woohoo, something that felt like home. I got my first peppermint drink of the year and it was tastyyyy
We arrived at their house and had a lunch with a few missionaries and their kids that were all from the states. We got to spend Christmas eating turkey, playing games and speaking English 🙂
And they had a Christmas tree!!!
Their backyard was huge and had a bunch of fruit trees, so my team decided to climb the tree and take Christmas pictures.
After we left, we took another hour long taxi ride back home. It was an interesting Christmas, as I have never rode the bus on Christmas Day.
We walked through town after the bus ride and we bumped into a celebration where there were a ton of people, kids running around, food vendors and lots of Christmas lights! God definitely provided little pieces of home throughout the day and it was awesome.
Once we got home we had Oreo truffles, hot chocolate milk, read the story of Jesus birth, sang Christmas carols and shared our secret Santa gifts!
It was a fun day filled with lots of laughs, Jesus love and Christmas cheer!!! Merry Christmas everyone!!!
