Hey,

My name is Sam Haymond. I grew up in Bakersfield, CA with my 5 brothers and 2 sisters. We were all home-schooled, which was a lot of fun. From a very young age we were taught about Jesus and his sanctifying work on the Cross. We all went to church every Sunday and served in various ministries. When I was 12 my dad took me to the Perspectives class which really opened my heart to missions. When I started working at 15 I walked away from God as the pressures of the world really started to weigh on me. From the ages of 16-18 I conformed to the world’s standards. The day after I turned 19 I drove up to Sandpoint, Idaho to get away from all the stuff I was involved in. I got a job working at a boating dock. The manager, David, who is a very strong Christian really encouraged me to go back to church. I started going to a local Calvary Chapel and got really involved with the youth group. As I started reading my bible, praying, and getting back to being involved in church, God started to work on me. One day during this process I was driving and God started to convict me of my sin and rebelliousness towards Him. I knew that without Jesus I was going to go to Hell. It was at that time I confessed my sins to God and put my faith in Him. Since then my life has looked so different compared to years past.

I am so Blessed to be going on World Race this year. It is all because of the great love, mercy, and faithfulness God has shown me in my life. After World Race I hope to finish up college and go overseas to live and preach Jesus to a tribe that has never heard His name.

Lamentations 3:22-23
