Hey! I’m Sam, and I’m so excited to be squad leading with Gap Year in 2020!
I went on the World Race in 2012 (after completing my bachelor’s degree), and it completely changed my life. I experienced life with God in a way that I never knew was possible. God is alive and working, and He loves when we partner with Him in His work!
After the World Race, I got my first master’s degree in global studies. I learned about how much I didn’t know when I was serving overseas! I also taught high school English for a couple of years after the World Race. Most recently, I have been serving as the Youth Director at Ferrysburg Community Church in Michigan.
Squad leading has been on my heart for about four years, but the timing has never quite aligned until now! God is so faithful! He knows our hearts and our desires. 1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 says, “May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.” He is the one who has called us to follow Him, and He is the one sustaining us!
