Hi!

I’m Sam; welcome to my World Race Semesters Blog! I am unbelievably grateful to have this opportunity to serve and am looking forward to see how God is going to use this experience to grow myself & the people I interact with and serve.

To help you get a gist of who I am, and why I feel so called to go on this mission trip, I’ll use this first post to tell you a bit about who I am.

I am 22 years old and was born and raised in Westbrook, Maine. Growing up in Maine established a deep love for the outdoors, especially for the lake and the ocean. It is extremely humbling to be immersed in nature and to admire God’s glory while looking out at something that is so much larger than yourself.

It seemed as if I was always longing to be a part of something bigger than myself, so after high school graduation I moved to Indiana to be closer to some family and to further my education at Ball State University. I just graduated this past week with a degree in Early Childhood, Youth, and Family Studies. I am not quite sure where my professional life will lead, but as of right now I am content with enjoying the path that God has placed in front of me. Right now that includes this mission trip to Zambia, Africa for the month of July!

I have always had a servant heart and a passion for working with children, developing deep relationships with people, and helping others through difficult times that may present themselves in their lives. I didn’t have a relationship with Christ until my junior year of college, so you can imagine the amount of excitement I have to go out into the world and spread His word and His glory.

I will be posting updates/pictures about my journey, and the work God is doing, through this blog so I hope you stay up-to-date with my journey!
