As some of you may know, I work in an Ann Taylor LOFT. Through this job, I’ve met amazing people: my coworkers, managers, and customers.

As some of you may not know, I moved home from college back in December and ever since then, I’ve felt completely isolated. I moved away from my friends and from a Christian community.

In these past 5 months, I have learned to do a lot of things by myself. I go to work by myself (like mostly everyone else), sit in coffee shops by myself (sometimes for hours on end, sorry Greenberry’s employees), I even went to the movies by myself last week (I couldn’t resist seeing Beauty & the Beast again).

While I think it’s very important for people to learn to be comfortable by themselves, it definitely needs to be balanced.

These last few weeks the Lord has really shown up; In ways that are very clear to me, and others that I’ve needed to explore before I really knew they were from Him.

For example, back in February I was ringing up this woman’s purchase and she began talking about how their family was launching a new church the next day. We began talking, and somehow the topic of the race came up. She became very excited because there were 2 people who volunteered at this church who had both gone on the race, so she insisted that I come to meet them. Fast forward 4 weeks later, I went, saw her, and met these 2 super awesome people. Needless to say, automatic connection and they’re the best. (Obviously super clear. How could it not be?)

Last week, I was in the fitting room just cleaning up and this woman walks in wearing a shirt that indicated she works for the gym I’m a member of. Long story short, I asked her if she worked there and she said she’s a massage therapist. I joked around saying that I needed a massage, and she told me I should definitely come by. I made an appointment for the next morning at 9 am. During the massage, we started talking and she brought up something about church, and I immediately got super excited and asked “are you a Christian?!” because that’s just who I am and I couldn’t think of a better way to ask that question. She said yes, and the rest of the massage we talked about God and spiritual beliefs. (Obviously a situation I needed to explore before I knew it was from the Lord)

After the massage, I went to my weekly counseling session and told my counselor all about that interaction. She then told me that she had been praying for me to meet more Christian people, and I was astounded. Mostly because that’s not something I would’ve thought to pray about, and I was meeting really incredible people. When the session ended, she told me I should write a book about the LOFT fitting room, which I thought was ridiculous, but here I am writing a whole blog about it. Lol.

What I’ve learned these last few weeks is that when you really start paying attention, the Lord WILL provide you what you need and more; whether you realize you need it or not. I didn’t realize that I was missing Christian friends. BUT, my counselor saw that void and prayed to fix it. I had no idea that she was praying for this, but here we are. It’s just funny how God works sometimes.

Well, most of the time.
