Thailand.
The 2 months spent here were hard, turbulent, transforming, & fruitful.
I personally struggled a lot with community & making relationships with the students at our school.
When the Lord started to show me how far I had come in regards to overcoming apathy, I started to dig a little deeper with my team and my students. I started to let them see the real me a little more, started to let myself feel connections with my students.
It was not easy and it didn’t happen overnight, but man, it was great when it did.
This isn’t very in depth, but I wanted to preface the video I compiled so it doesn’t seem like it’s always light & fun on the race; there are struggles I’ve faced that have knocked me down and made it hard to breathe, but there have also been times where I feel so light I could fly higher than the birds.
In life, there’s always a balance: you can never have only good days, but you can’t always have bad days. I hope that as you watch videos and read blogs about the race, you know that there are some serious struggles we walk through.
Not really sure where I’m going with this, but I hope you watch this video & you’re encouraged by the students’ shining faces & smiles. These are the kids who helped me feel noticed, loved, & cared for. I hope that you sense that as you watch this video!
all my love, Sam Bell Battambang, Cambodia
