A glimpse.
That’s all we get.
All we get is a glimpse into the life of those around us. Everyday we have the opportunity to meet new people or talk to the people we see everyday. We have the chance to start the conversation. DON’T MISS IT. Take the opportunity. Start the conversation. We can’t waste anymore time.
Yoseph was a man we met today. Well, Travis met him last night and took us to meet him today. He was traveling around South America. He is from Israel but grew up in California. He had everything taken from him. He was robbed. Now, he is on the streets begging. He has to go to the embassy, in Lima, to get his passport. But in-order to get to the embassy he needs his passport for a bus ticket. We sat and had dinner with him and listened. We just had a conversation. He shared his perspectives with us. Going from a traveler to a beggar all in one night. He talked with us about how people have treated him and what it’s been like. At times I wanted to cry. Other times I was mad and disappointed in the way people treat other people. We are all human-beings. No one is better than the other. Just human.
Yoseph found a way he could get to Lima without his passport. He has to take local buses to each town and eventually make it to Lima. Travis gave him money for those buses, we prayed for him, and gave our contact info for when we arrive in Lima. (Which should be in a few days). Just in case he runs into anymore issues.
This is what ministry looks like. No pictures. Just a conversation. My heart has been wrecked. Please take the time to have those conversationa.
