One day when we were in Phnom Penh, Cambodia during training camp we had a few hours to explore. A group of people went to a local market and returned with the weight of the world on their shoulders. They begin to talk about what they saw and the darkness that surrounded that whole market.

The next day during our free time they wanted to go back and do a prayer walk through the market. So I joined them and we had worship music playing and just prayed the whole way through it. When we finished those who had seen it the day before were speechless because it was so different the second day. So we thanked God and continued to lift that market up to him.

That was the end of it… or so I thought.

A couple days ago in Chiang Mai, one of the guys on my team, Hunter, had a similar experience. He was out exploring and came across a street that was really dark and heavy. When he told the team about his experience we decided to go and do a prayer walk. Guess what. THE SAME THING HAPPENED. The street was nothing like it was on that first day.

This happening one time. Cool. This happening a second time… Okay God what are you saying.

“Why are you so surprised that there is more light and life when you return to a once darkened street when my light is inside of you.” -God

Guys, everyday we walk with the power and authority of the Most High inside of us. It doesn’t matter if we are in Cambodia, Thailand, New Zealand, South Africa, the United States or any where else, God CHOSE us to be His light. Matthew 5:14, “You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.” The best part is we do not have to do this alone!

In fact we cannot do it alone. John 15:5, “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.” With every word we say and with every step we take we have the opportunity to speak life and to be a light.

Walk in that confidence knowing you are not alone.

You carry HIS light.
