This time of year is one of my favorites. Just about everyone has an extra bounce in their step and tend to be more giving. It is a time full of happiness and joy. It is also the time of year that the rocks do not have to cry out because just about everyone (minus a few Grinches) are singing Christmas carols. I can’t think about Christmas and not think about the whole reason Jesus was born in a manger. He was born as an offering for our sins. His whole life revolved around being the ultimate sacrifice. Then my thought process takes me to this journey that I am about to embark on. Eleven different countries that I get the opportunity to share the love of Jesus in. Thinking about that really overwhelms me with the honor that God choose me to share His love. I would have never had this opportunity if I would not have offered something to God.

Yes, I have chosen to live my life in a way that pleases God. However, if I would have just continued in my daily, weekly, monthly routine, I would have never positioned myself to offer more to the calling that God placed on my life. I was beginning to go stir crazy knowing that God had more for me. My excuse was I could see the big picture but I just didn’t know the small steps that it takes to get there. I didn’t know where to begin.  I would constantly find myself saying, “Here I am, God use me. Whatever you want me to do I’ll do” Which those are great things to be saying but actions speak louder than words. My actions consisted of praying and kind of looking for an open door. But then someone started a sentence with, “You know I love you, right” and that was when I knew it was time for my actions to be purposeful. Instead of just praying and kind of looking, I began fasting and passionately seeking open doors. My actions were intentional and my heart was ready.

So with this I ask you, what are you offering? Are your actions just going through the motions or are your actions purposeful?  I want to encourage you to take this Christmas season, in all the busyness, and examine what you are offering God. Take time to see if there are places where you need to passionately seek rather than kind of seek. Just remember Newton’s 1st law of motion, it is easier to move an object that is in motion than an object at rest. Be the object that is passionately seeking (in motion) rather than kind of seeking (at rest).

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
