Sitting here trying to reflect on my time in Malaysia has been more difficult than past months. The month seemed like a blur. The first week we had debrief, then team Deep went to Kuala Lumpur for a few days, and then to Singapore for a week. Upon returning to Kuala Lumpur we decided to stay in one place for two weeks, which was new for us. I was sick the first few days and then a few others on the team also felt ill. We had a few days of everyone feeling almost 100% then my grandma died and I spent the rest of the month feeling numb. Then we headed to Bandung, Indonesia for debrief.
But what really happened in Malaysia?
– God asked me if I was ready for more. To which I said, “Yes!”
– God gave me my new word for the month, Sanctification also known as the process of becoming more like Jesus.
– Singapore was a wonderful surprise full of little blessings, connections, and lessons.
– Being sick turned into a blessing because I was actually able to fully rest.
– During that time all I could do was pray. So I prayed for my family, my team, my squad, and the squad leadership team.
– He was faithful to give me a little something for each of them to pray into.
– God would wake me up in the morning and wouldn’t allow me to fall asleep until I sought hard after Him.
– His heart for us to worship is so beautiful and so massive. Ooh it’s overwhelming!
– I was able to work through some of the hurts that I had just bottled up and had decided to deal with them later.
– I was able to walk in forgiveness even when it didn’t make sense.
– I was able to have a more intimate relationship with the big man upstairs.
– Everyday was filled with a glimpse of God’s faithfulness and goodness.
– We had the opportunity to teach for a week at a refugee school for Myanmar children.
– I was able to speak with my family during the family viewing. We all spent our time laughing and celebrating my grandma’s life but also the opportunity that I have been given to travel the World.
– I was surrounded by amazing friends, that I consider family, while I was feeling numb and allowed to grieve. Never being told that I needed to feel a certain way. They all loved me so well!
Now we are in Indonesia…
– Debrief was good. It is always so great seeing everyone together.
– Teams switched and we now have only 2 teams… The Boyz and The Ladies.
– God gave me a new word for the month: Radical
– Hunter made a connection through couch-surfing and invited her to the house during debrief.
– Her name is Yosi and she is a Christian and really wanted to meet with other Christians from other countries.
– She added me as a friend on Facebook and the rest is history.
– After explaining a little more about unscripted and the world race she wanted to be part.
– She helped us find a house for all the girls to go after debrief that was in budget.
– She is staying with us, joining in our our worship and prayer times, and helping translate with the locals.
– We asked if there was a place that we could donate clothes and we were blessed with an opportunity to hold babies, play with toddlers, and minister to woman who became pregnant before marriage or were raped.
– It is a Christian organization that has turned into a safe house for woman in a culture where honor is very important.
(Yosi and I just walking through this unscripted journey)
– Everything about Yosi joining our team has been full of Divine Connections.
– This is only the first week of Indonesia and at this rate who knows what the end of the month is going to look like! The possibilities are ENDLESS!
