This blog is long overdue, but, I would like to introduce the world to the newest member of the Murtaugh clan–“Mister Winston Newton Murtaugh.
He is a cactus. And I love him. I bought him for 20 Baht (about 60 cents) last month while we were staying in the village and smuggled him over the Thai/Cambodian border in my french press.
I’m pretty excited about him. I have learned, the hard way–twice–that, though he looks awfully fluffy and soft, he is in fact a very dangerous plant and is not one to be stroked. 🙂
I’m really hoping He’ll be able to stay with me the remainder of the trip, but I don’t know how likely that will be. I’m not sure how good my smuggling abilities will be when we go through legit customs and, I don’t really know how to properly care for a cactus. Do I water him? I do not know. But, we’ll see.
