My family!  Goodness.  I don’t really know where to begin.  I’ve been away for about a week now…and my new life is starting to roll.

Flights went well.  We lost an entire day, September 14, never existed in my life…but the AIM staff welcomed us in the Philippines and brought us to our launch site where we got to rest and get over jet lag, eat and start getting briefed about what this month is going to look like.   Though, of course, everything is really up in the air and ha…there’s always a lot that we get to just figure out.

We have arrived at our contact today.

This month team Gozo has joined forces with team PLJ (which is great for Brian, he needs his man time) and are staying in Manilla.  We have been blessed with a hostel to stay in this month (our budget is going to be tight, but it’s worth it) and internet access.

The ministry we’re partnering with is called PCF…and my heart is already broken.  PCF is a ministry that is built inside Manilla’s city dump.  …you know, like trash. These people leave amongst the city’s garbage.  I’ve seen poverty before, but never to this extent.  As we were driving in, my heart was already breaking.  and we’re on day one.

Of course, the people are incredible.  They have nothing, they live on piles of crap and poo on the street…yet they are filled with absolute joy.  Joy, joy, joy.

Oh!  and! I have found, who i think will end up being, the love of my life.  his name is Winston!  He’s probably 10 and leaves in the Dump Side community.  I am in love with him.  i haven’t got to know him much yet, but i love him and there will be pictures.

Of you who have traveled with me, you know that i am absolutely horrible at taking pictures.  I will do my best.

I love you all.  The Lord has already shown up mightily…He is on the move!  Continue praying for me and my wonderful team.

I love you all!

samara!
