So, my month in Thailand has been one that I will remember forever. It has been one full of challenges and fun surprises, full of growth and learning and full of freedom; lots and lots of freedom. As I say good bye to that lovely country, here are some of the highlights of my month in a country that will never leave my heart.

THAILAND HIGHLIGHTS!!

Tattoos. Fifteen people on the Q squad got tattoos this month. Mostly because they’re clean and cheap. (I am not one of the 15…just to clarify.) But two of the people used my handwriting to write out their tattoos. So, my handwriting is now permanently on Amy Duncan and Cassie Camille. It’s crazy! And I love it.

Wongen Kafe. The people who were housing us in the village weren’t ready for us right away, so we got to spend the first half of our month living above and volunteering in this Kafe. Which was great. It was just such an awesome environment, western toliets, free internet and awesome coffee, cheesecake and an ice cream buffet. What more could a girl want?

Hoola Hoops!  I’ve never been able to do them before…now I can do them on people’s backs.

Elephant Rides. I got to ride an elephant. Enough said.

Tiffany Berkowitz. I don’t really need to expound this one either… 🙂 Plus, I don’t want anything to go to her head.

Lilly.  I met her the one night that I got to go out to the bars in the red light district and hang out with the women whose lives are spent there.  She was a doll.  I have a lot I could say about this experience, but the one that stands out the most is that she is a Connect Four champion, and I am not.

The Eubanks and Free Burma Rangers and their ranch.  That place of rest was exactly what my team needed after harvesting rice.

And finally, my team…I love those Gozo girls!

There are so many more highlights, like the festival of lights and harvesting rice, living in the village and eating all the delicious food, but honestly, it’s getting really late and I need to wrap this up…

Thailand was incredible,

Love you!
