Hello again my friends and family! Gosh, another month with really limited internet. The World Race has become so different for me these past few months, since I haven’t had the internet at my disposal like I have always been accustomed to. Really, until Gozo’s week in the rice fields of Thailand, we had the internet whenever we wanted. Obviously, things have changed.
With the new year, the Q squad has left Asia and made its way over to Africa. To be completely honest, I wasn’t excited at all to come to Africa. I’m still not exactly sure why, but I was kind of dreading these next three months on this continent.
I was heartbroken leaving my contacts from Cambodia, plus I was dealing with the stupid parasite I named Johnathon that was living in my stomach. I was just not looking forward to coming to Africa.
Well. Those attitudes have fled. Seriously. As soon as our flight landed in Nairobi, my heart was filled with an intense excitement. There is this anticipation that has been building up in my spirit, and as we landed in Nairobi, I felt like the Lord said, “you’re getting closer.â€
So, we have arrived! Hallelujah! My team is spending this month in a village called Kachibora, which is about 25km from Kitale. We have been told by numerous people that Kitale, and even more so Kachibora, is the most beautiful part of Kenya. We have been blessed.
I am in love. I love the cows and sheep that are grazing outside the door. I love, love, love the African children that are running around in their school uniforms. I love the mountains that surround me. I love the sky, filled with more stars than I ever thought possible. I love the lack of language barrier (and the fact that I know a lot of Swahili from The Lion King.) And, I especially love, that for the second month in a row Team Undignified is in one of God’s favorite, secret places, surrounded by Godly men.
It’s quite humorous to me. That for the second month in a row, the Lord is showing my team of all beautiful women, that there are, in fact, Godly men.
In Malaysia, I was getting really discouraged by the lack of men on the World Race. Our squad of 39 people was made up of 30 women and 9 men; and during that second month of our race, one of our men decided to go home. Bringing us down to 30 women, 8 men. On top of that, we were also surrounded by women at our ministry locations. God put it on my heart that we needed to be praying for Godly men.
He is so faithful.
So, that’s all for now. The Lord gave me the word faithfulness for the month and I believe that I will be writing more and more about that. About our God’s extreme faithfulness.
Love you!!
